Dr. Adam Buhman-Wiggs

I am a licensed psychologist in Kansas and Missouri, who has been providing processional psychotherapy services since 1999.  I work with a wide range of patients, from teens to the elderly, providing both individual and couples’ therapy.  I also have expertise in multiple areas of psychological testing and evaluation services, including neurocognitive (dementia) evaluations, adult ADHD and adult Autism evaluations, presurgical evaluations for bariatric and spinal cord stimulator implant trials, as well as general diagnostic evaluations.  As a therapist, I have extensive expertise in emotion-focused therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, acceptance & commitment therapy, and cognitive processing therapy for trauma, and I have provided professional training and supervision for other therapists in most of these treatment models. I am also experienced in providing therapy for adult individuals on the autism spectrum, those with various forms of trauma, those struggling with chronic pain, and I have further expertise in working with religious issues in therapy.  My work is emotionally open and engaged, scientifically accountable, and I strive to create a nonjudgemental relationship in which my patients feels safe, empowered, challenged, and supported.  I accept several major insurance plans, and see patients both in-person and virtually as needed.
